Why don’t we measure more?
Peter Drucker, the famed organizational leader, business consultant, and bestselling author is often misquoted by well-intentioned, but casual observers of his tenets. One of Mr. Drucker’s famous ‘Druckerism’ is often repeated as “what gets measured gets done.” While he never said that or any other variation you might find via Google; what Peter Drucker DID say is “what gets measured gets managed.” There is a world of difference in these two statements and today - our own in-house organizational leader who instead of building businesses, [although he has done that too] has built one of the most successful non- profit community impact organizations in America, and he is our own Gerry Brisson, CEO and President of the Gleaners Community Food of SE MI, he is also the President of the FBCM Board of Directors.
Understanding the value and impact of the food is crucial to understanding the bold concept of keeping food first!
