Michigan hospitals and community partners discuss Food as Medicine strategies
The Michigan Health & Hospital Association’s Health Access & Community Impact Council recently convened to discuss strategies for improving health outcomes through stronger integration of social and clinical care. During the meeting, Dr. Dawn Opel, President and Chief Innovation Officer of the Food Bank Council of Michigan, shared an overview of Michigan’s Food as Medicine landscape and the opportunities ahead to strengthen partnerships between healthcare systems and food organizations.
