United Way funding helps food banks bounce back from shortages

Local nonprofits Food Gatherers, Community Action Network (CAN) and SOS Community Services will be granted $16,000 courtesy of United Way of Washtenaw County to fund their food shortage assistance efforts.

The struggles of the pandemic, inflation and supply chain issues have made feeding under-resourced families harder than ever, with CAN and SOS Community Services struggling to meet the demands of a growing population of families in need.
