Adrian Lewis

Adrian Lewis serves as the CEO of Forgotten Harvest. Lewis brings a wealth of experience delivering strategic, financial, and operational results, while building trusting relationships at every level. He has a passion and a personal mission for making a positive impact in the community, drawing on his own personal experiences of food insecurity and disparity during his childhood. We are excited to have a talented leader who brings a proven track record in strategic oversight, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence, and team development to effectively guide us in addressing increased community need and supporting our rapidly evolving organization.

Most recently, Adrian was the Market Director for Meijer Inc., where he served since 2010, with responsibility for Detroit-Flint-Cincinnati regions. Locally, he was accountable for retail team members at all levels for a market territory of 12 high-volume stores in the metro Detroit area to ensure delivery of the best possible experience for customers. In 2013, he led the project and building the team for Meijer’s first supercenter in the city of Detroit at Woodward and Eight Mile. Prior to working at Meijer, he held leadership positions at Rite Aid and Albertsons (Seessel’s). Adrian also has earned an Executive MBA degree from Howard University.

Adrian is very committed to fostering community engagement, social impact, mentoring, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives. He served on the Meijer Diversity Council, was a Meijer Credit Union Board Member, and has been involved with the Detroit Public Schools Revitalization, Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Make A Wish America, and has been recognized as Michigan Chronicle’s Men of Excellence.
