Lansing, Mich.- Food Bank Council of Michigan’s (FBCM) Board of Directors have selected Dr. Phillip Knight as FBCM’s new Executive Director.
Dr. Knight comes to FBCM from Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Michigan Capital Region, where he was instrumental in providing leadership that resulted in increased organizational collaboration, the implementation of successful fund development strategies, and multiple new strategic partnerships. Prior to his time at Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Dr. Knight provided leadership mentoring in a variety of different settings, with a focus on the EQUIP model of leadership.
“Phil brings an outstanding background of leadership as well as a heart for helping those in need in our community,” said Kenneth Estelle, Board Chair for Food Bank Council of Michigan. “I look forward to working with Phil to help the Food Bank Council of Michigan continue to lead the fight against hunger in Michigan.”
Dr. Knight is a voracious reader, an avid golfer, and he enjoys a spirited discussion. Most of all, he loves spending time Up North with his wife Christy.

Phillip Knight joined the staff of Food Bank Council of Michigan at the end of November, 2014.
