Gerry Brisson

President, Gleaners Community Food Bank

Gerry Brisson became president of Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan in January 2014.  Prior to his appointment, he served as senior Vice President of the organization and was responsible for fund raising, marketing, communications, public relations, food drives, and volunteers for the food bank.  He celebrates eight years as a senior leader at the food bank.

Before joining Gleaners, Gerry owned his own consulting business for nonprofit organizations for seven years and before that was the Development Director for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen for eight years.

Gerry holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in organizational management from the University of Phoenix, and has earned a post-graduate certificate in fund raising management from the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.

Gerry is a graduate of Leadership Detroit and currently sits on their advisory board as the class XXXI trustee.  He is also a member of the Detroit Athletic Club.  In 2007 he was honored by Fund Raising Success Magazine as a Fund Raising Professional of the Year.

Gerry has lived in the Detroit area for 31 years, is married to Katie Brisson who is Vice President of programs at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, and has four children.
